Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to managing things on your own.
You might be the person others rely on. The one who keeps going, even when things feel overwhelming underneath. Or perhaps you’ve been carrying something for a long time, such as anxiety, low mood and past experiences, and you’re not quite sure how to move forward.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
About Me
I’m Gulshan Oriakhel, and I'm an integrative, trauma-informed therapist. This means I look at the whole of your experience, not just what’s happening now, but the patterns and experiences that may sit underneath it. I’m based in East London, offering online therapy for adults across the UK.
I have a degree in Psychology, a Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a qualified Rainbow Baby Specialist and Infertility Specialist through the Foundation for Infant Loss (FIL), supporting clients through pregnancy loss, infertility, and the complex emotions that can follow.
Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw from different evidence-based therapies to support you in a way that feels right for you.
Our work together is collaborative and paced around you. There’s no pressure to open up all at once. We go at a speed that feels safe and manageable.
How I Work With Clients
I offer therapy in English, Pashto, and Farsi/Dari, and I work with clients from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. I aim to create a space that feels:
-
Warm and welcoming
-
Grounded and steady
-
Free from judgement
-
Genuinely human
You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear starting point. Whether things feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to explain, we can begin there.
Sessions are available online, allowing you to access support wherever you are in the UK, from the comfort of your own space.

Areas I Commonly Support
I work with adults experiencing:
-
Anxiety and overthinking
-
Depression and low mood
-
Trauma and difficult past experiences
-
Grief and loss
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Burnout and life transitions
-
Self-esteem and identity struggles
My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a belief that meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to explore your experiences openly.
I’m particularly interested in understanding how past experiences shape present patterns and supporting you to gently make sense of these, rather than feeling controlled by them.
